Ducks trade O'Donnell to KingsThe Anaheim Ducks continue unloading defensemen.Four days after dealing Mathieu Schneider to Atlanta for salary-cap purposes, the Ducks on Tuesday traded fellow blue-liner Sean O'Donnell to the Los Angeles Kings for a 2009 conditional draft pick. The 36-year-old O'Donnell recorded two goals, seven assists and 84 penalty minutes in 82 games with Anaheim last season, his second full campaign with the club. He helped the Ducks to the Stanley Cup championship in 2007, notching two assists and 10 penalty minutes in 21 postseason contests during their title run.A sixth-round pick of Buffalo in 1991, O'Donnell is returning to the team with which he began his NHL career. The native of Ottawa debuted with the Kings in 1994-95 and remained with the club before being claimed by the Minnesota Wild in the 2000 expansion draft.O'Donnell notched 12 goals, 59 assists and 799 penalty minutes in 381 games during his first stint with Los Angeles. In 932 career games with the Kings, Wild, New Jersey Devils, Boston Bruins, Phoenix Coyotes and Ducks, O'Donnell has collected 27 goals, 150 assists and 1,558 penalty minutes. The 6-3, 234-pounder has added six tallies, 16 points and 120 penalty minutes in 87 playoff contests.Tuesday's trade is just the second between Los Angeles and Anaheim in the history of the franchises. The first was consummated in February, when the Kings sent goaltender Jean-Sebastien Aubin to the Ducks for a seventh-round draft pick

This is all about the ducks trading O'Donnell to the kings.he was the best when he was on los angelasa's team.

Why do you think they traded O'Donnell?
Do you think they should of traded him?why?
Are you a fan of the ducks?why?

they are linked because O'Donnel is native and the natives created hockey.

i belive that they made a good move tradding odonnel because he is getting old and could retire soon. not only that he they will get ia rookie that could help out in the future. and my last reason is that he lonly had like 2 goals and like seven assist tht is pritty bad and he could n ot stay out of the penelty box.

I think they were smart to trade O'donnelle because he had alot of pentalty minutes and that could cost the ducks games

I think that O'Donnell is a great player and he has won lots of games and helped his team accomplish their goals like winning a trophy. I think they traded o'donnell because maybe because they didnt think he was not that good or that he was getting too old or the team had some issues with him. I dont think they should have traded him since he had an outstanding resume and career in his other teams and he helped some teams win the championships. I am not a fan of the ducks because i usually dont have time since i have to stay at school at 8 sometimes and get back at 9 pm because my brother usually has to do some things and i also live 30 minutes away.

I think that they traded O'Donnell because he is going to retire soon. When they get a draft pick, they can get a young player that they can use for a long time. I think it was a good trade.

but also he has 1,558 penalty minutes which is not good and could lose a game for the ducks

If you ask me, (which I wouldn't because I don't like hockey) I would say that it was a good trade because who wants a 36-year-old player who isn't even that good if you can get a draft pick that could have potensial.

they might have traded him because he was getting old an traded him to get a fresh young player . was good to tade him so then theyed get a good younger player . i dont like the ducks because they are not a very good hockey franchise .

ya he had alot of penalties but he was good at scoring goals so he was better to stay and usually penalties are not that long

Odonnel is going to retire soon so it is good they traded him so they could get someone young. he also couldn't stay out of the penalty box to that could cost the ducks some goals.

I think that thay did a god thing by tradding O'donnel because he was not scorring meny golse and was in the penelty box to much.It was a good thing that the Losangals kings tolk him back, because He scorred lots of gols for them.

I think they tradded O'donnal because he spent alot of his time in the penalty box. I think they made the right move to trade him. he should of got tradded earlier if you ask me. As I said befor he spent to much time in the penalty box and he wasn't that efective. I am not a fan of a duck because I don't like thier style of play they always hitting things and not much skill and fenece!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I think it was mistake to trade O'Donnel because he has a lots of experience than the new one and he knows his teamates better.
Sometimes he socored and assist too. I know that is not good but he might just be in slump and nobody can score all the times. so I think tradding O'Donnel was big mistake.

I dont know much about hokey but it seems that O'Donnel is a very good player that every team would like to have, but he is getting to old for the team, thats why I think it was a smart trade. But may be he will have a good season with the Kings.

I think the Mighty Ducks were smart to trade O'Donnell. In fact, I think O'Donnell is lucky to still be playing in the NHL! He spends too much time in the penalty box and doesn't do much outside of it. Plus, he's 36 years old...isn't that like 120 in hockey years?
